Advanced modelling of the cities

Modern urban planning and design requires integrated analysis and application of different tools for the purpose of analyzing, evaluating and solving spatial problems at the city level by integrating different urbanistic parameters and criteria (floor level, degree of built area, population density, purpose of the urban areas, purpose of objects, etc.). GIS technologies enable manipulation with a number of parameters and attributes in order to create an analysis and future planning for the development of cities. In addition, the procedural approach to modeling using CityEngine software enables the creation of intelligent 3D model cities that are automatically generated in relation to 2D GIS data (e.g. floor level, object purpose, etc.), which can additionally integrate different typological characteristics of objects. Within the scope of the Advanced modelling of the cities, basic knowledge about the application of GIS technology in urban planning, as well as the way of creating intelligent 3D models of cities or objects in the city of a particular typological group, are acquired.

Novi Sad Old Town Insolation Analysis The topic of this project was the analysis of the insolation of the streets where the Novi Sad Old Town was chosen for the site. What is spotted is that the storey of buildings in this part of the city is inadequate – higher than allowed by the cross-section of a street.

Reconstruction of Ribarac Riverside in Novi Sad based on Eastern Docklands in AmsterdameThe goal of the project is to analyze the shape grammar of contemporary urban reconstructions, in the selected case of Eastern Docklands in Amsterdam, the development of a procedural model based on the typology of analyzed objects and applications in urban morphology in Novi Sad.
GIS Analysis of the Cultural Objects in Novi SadWithin this project task, a GIS database of cultural objects in Novi Sad was created.
Procedural Model of Romanticism Buildings in Sombor Within this project, facades of objects in Sombor that belong to the historical style of romanticism were analyzed and generated in the programming language CGA Shape Grammar which automatically generates objects with street facades so that they contain the characteristics of the mentioned style.
