The aim of the paper was to analyze the insolation in the blocks of Grbavica, the part of the city of Novi Sad, and explore the possibilities of better exploitation of the insolation.
Several variations of the models generated in CityEngine are analyzed, and the conclusion is that changes in floor altitudes, roof slopes and similar changes in geometry of objects can significantly affect insolation.
The first figure shows the existing condition and two variations of the roof geometry that gave good results when analyzing the insolation. The second figure shows the analysis of the floors and the slope of the roof of these cases. Colder colors represent higher objects, and warmer colors represents lower objects, while on the slope of the roof figure, violet colors is dual slope, light green four slope, while olive green are flat roofs.
